Great Expectations
This is considered to be the best novel of Charles Dickens. It is about an orphan that is humbled to the point of taking up the job of an apprentice to do a dirty work of the forge but also dreams of a life of becoming a gentleman.
A Tale of Two Cities
Another fine work of the famous author which talks about a tumultuous world where Paris and London are separated due to the events of the French Revolution.
Bleak House
The story is about a long legal matter between Jarndyce Vs Jarndyce. Dickens added a bit of romance, comedy, mystery and satire all in one book. Bleak House talks about the sufferings that were as a result of the inefficiency of law.
The Adventures of Oliver Twist
This is popular story of young orphan boy who lived as a child in a workhouse. He was an apprentice and later escaped to London where he met the Artful Dodger.
